do I need a bat survey?
You’ll need a bat survey done if you’re converting, modifying, demolishing or removing certain buildings – such as old farm buildings, any building close to woodland or water, or any planning which includes a wind turbine. There are also other considerations like the age and certain features of any building.
Planning authorities often have different requirements depending on the type of planning application – so check with them first – but if the building is currently empty you’ll almost certainly need a bat survey.
